SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

TOUR CODE MTP16

This tour is operated by Keane Bush Tours another quality Sydney-based tour operator. Should you be interested in undertaking this tour please contact us and we will pass on your request for further details.

You then head south from the city skirting around the edge of Royal National Park. One minute you are driving through bushland, then suddenly you are admiring stunning panoramic views along the coast from Otford Lookout, Stanwell Park and Bulli Lookout. Follow the coast down to Albion Park where you turn westwards and head up into the hills, travelling via the Macquarie Pass (rainforest views) to Robertson. After an easy drive through picturesque rural areas you arrive at Fitzroy Reserve for your morning tea break.

It’s time now to engage four wheel drive and "go bush" and follow the escarpment overlooking Yarrunga Valley, stopping occasionally for some short walks to take in some of the best views in the Sydney region. We also explore remnants of the local forestry industry which was phased out earlier this century. Travel on to "Milton Park", once the retreat of one of Sydney’s pioneering retailing families. It now functions as a five-star country lodge/resort and is a possible luncheon venue (three course meal). After lunch travel through attractive English-style countryside to the Cecil Hoskins Water Reserve, with over 80 species of water bird and lounging kangaroos as our backdrop. From here return to the city.
